The Dover School District has been awarded the Purple Star District designation which honors districts that show a major commitment to serving students and families connected to our nation’s armed forces.

The Dover School District is proud to honor and support our military families by:

• providing a School Military Liaison to serve as a point of contact for military-connected students and families and by appointing a military service member to serve on its family engagement committee
• completing training on special considerations for military-connected students and families and maintaining contact with teachers of these students to inform them of these special considerations
• providing resources for military families through a dedicated webpage
• addressing military family issues in the school family engagement plan
